Mary Lynn ‘M.L.’ Bass, Producer/Director/Writer, M.L. Bass & Associates: Script to Screen Productions

This session will help you learn how to create your own path in producing all kinds of projects across all kinds of purposes and genres.

“M.L.” started as a Writer-Producer in Advertising in KC with the guys who had created the “Happy Meal” for McDonald’s. Then she took a job offer in Asuncion. Paraguay, where she created TV/Radio/Print campaigns in Spanish and helped triple their client base in 6 months. She also worked on her first documentary in the jungles of the interior of that country. Her crew made a documentary at a location under extreme conditions: with no electricity for miles, no running water, political interference, 3 languages between the small crew and subjects--- all while living in hammocks and bathing in the creek with everyone else from the countryside.

After that confidence building experience, she realized she could create anything —just about anywhere. She replaced her idea of going to NYC to get back into advertising with the desire to seek projects that would continually challenge her creatively.

She accomplished that goal and now looks forward to sharing excerpts of some of those projects, the stories of how she manifested the opportunities and the challenges she had to overcome along the way.
